Behaviour Interactive and Dead by Daylight Launch Charity Campaigns for Two Worthy Causes

|
Montréal, Canada

The Fog taketh, but The Fog also giveth back. Behaviour Interactive and Dead by Daylight are proud to announce the launch of two new charity initiatives powered by the long-running horror multiplayer and its passionate community. The first will support the First Nations-focused IM4 Media Lab, while the second will benefit Montreal’s own The Douglas Foundation.

Survivor Shane Wiigwaas instantly became a fan-favourite when he was introduced as Dead by Daylight’s first-ever Indigenous character earlier this summer. Known as a force for good within The Fog, Shane’s reputation for helping others is set to extend beyond The Entity’s Realm with an upcoming charity initiative supporting IM4 Media Lab.

IM4 Media Lab is a First Nations-led nonprofit that trains Indigenous creators in immersive and emerging media with the goal of helping build a critical mass of Indigenous people working in creative tech.

‘’This dedicated campaign will support cross-disciplinary workshops designed to train and empower Indigenous game developers to create innovative, authentic Indigenous gaming experiences,” shares the IM4 Media Lab team. “We’re excited that the gaming industry is keen to collaborate with the Indigenous community to support our stories and celebrate our vision. We’re grateful to Behaviour for their commitment to Indigenous game developers.‘’

From** September 22nd to 30th**, players will be able to purchase the dapper Case Study Outfit for Shane from Dead by Daylight’s Autumn Fashion Collection, with all proceeds from sales of this cosmetic going to IM4 Media Lab. From September 25th to 27th, every Survivor playing as Shane who completes a specific in-game objective will contribute to a donation multiplier goal. Reaching this goal will add a 1.5x multiplier to Dead by Daylight’s total donation.

The Douglas Foundation x Charity Chest

Dead by Daylight’s charitable commitments will continue with the Charity Chest. This ongoing initiative benefits Montreal’s The Douglas Foundation and its work to improve the lives of those affected by mental illness through innovative research and direct patient care.

As of October 6th, dedicated Collection of ten in-game Cosmetic items will be available for players to purchase, with proceeds from all sales of these items going to The Douglas Foundation.

By growing the Collection annually, Dead by Daylight and its community can provide lasting support for an important cause and make a difference that extends well beyond The Fog.

“Reducing stigma around mental illness starts with open dialogue — and there are few audiences positioned to spark a conversation at this scale,” says Laura Fish, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Douglas Foundation. “We’re honored to partner with Behaviour Interactive, Montreal’s flagship video game studio, and the Dead by Daylight community in support of the Douglas Foundation, and we are excited for the impact this partnership will have on brain research and mental health innovation for years to come.”

Both initiatives reinforce Dead by Daylight’s commitment to working alongside its vast community for a good cause. Most recently, the Orela Rose fundraising campaign brought players together in support of the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation, raising an incredible $330,000 for the children’s hospital. Dead by Daylight is now carrying that momentum forward in support of IM4 Media Lab and The Douglas Foundation, giving the game’s ever-passionate community new ways to enact meaningful change through the game they love.
